Frequently Asked Questions

What factors cause a piano to go out of tune?
In order of importance; changes in temperature, humidity and the amount the piano is played.

How often should I have my piano tuned?
If the piano is kept under ideal conditions, (stable temperature and humidity) and is not played often, it's a good idea to have it tuned once a year. If the conditions are less than ideal or the piano is played often, twice a year is usually sufficient.

Do new pianos need to be tuned more frequently in the first year?
Yes, new strings can cause the pitch of your piano to go flat. New music wire is quite elastic and starts to stretch as soon as it is pulled up to pitch.

Where should I put the piano in my home?
An inside wall away from a heat source is best
